CHILDBEARING RATES

"Recordemos que la tasa de fertilidad es una cifra diferente de la tasa de natalidad, la cual se expresa por medio del número de niños nacidos en un año como porcentaje de la población total. La tasa de fertilidad representa el número de hijos que una mujer puede tener durante los años en que puede embarazarse, tomados, convencionalmente, entre los 15 y los 49" (http://www.elespectador.com/opinion/tasas-de-fertilidad-columna-502241, viewed on august 16, 2015).

In first place, colombia in 2014 had a decreasing fertility rate of 2.35, leading our nation in theory have an economic growth in the coming years, however, the European Union is rates of 1.4 in 2014, consequently if 1.3 reaches could be at risk of disappearing.

Finally, our industry is benefited by this birth rate, because when meeting with a rate of 2.35 the sector would be safe for a few more years, but if the number is decreasing would have to take decisions effectively.

WATER POLLUTION

Water pollution is a problem that has affected Colombia since the last decades as the "fiebre del oro" has 17 departments with no drinking water, according to the IDEAM 2050 60% of the stop will be gone in the nation, "Parece incomprensible que en un país con numerosos recursos hídricos, rico en precipitaciones anuales y con cinco grandes vertientes hidrográficas, se avizore la escasez del agua. En el caso de Colombia los ecosistemas más susceptibles a desaparecer por efectos del cambio climático (variación en precipitación y temperatura) son los de alta montaña, páramos y glaciares" (http://www.elespectador.com/vivir/el-pais-se-esta-quedando-sin-agua-articulo-258295, viewed on august 17, 2015); on the hand , according to Greenpeace overuse of resources, pollution, overfishing and modification of aquatic habitat (construction of hydroelectric dams and the diversion of flow) would lead to a crisis proportions not only national, but also global in access to safe drinking water by 2020.

"Aunque el año pasado el Congreso aprobó la ‘ley del mercurio’, que plantea, en 5 años, prohibir el uso de ese metal en la industria minera, expertos aseguran que falta regulación. “Debe modificarse, teniendo en cuenta las recomendaciones del Convenio de Minamata (estrategia mundial para eliminar el mercurio). Ahora sabemos que se han recuperado, para regocijo de la humanidad" (http://www.eltiempo.com/archivo/documento/CMS-12324630, viewed on august 17, 2015), it is clear that damage the ozone layer affects us all Colombian and that life as we know it today is at risk.

Location of retailing, manufacturing, and service business

The location of the retailing, manufacturing and service business gives an approximation of the earning that each of them produce in the country, giving us an idea of how important they are for the economy.

According to DANE in regards the manufacturing in Bogotá, the most important products included basic chemicals (5.3 billion pesos), beverages (3.5 billion pesos), milling and cereal processing (3 billion pesos), oil refining (2.9 billion pesos), and pulp, paper and derived products (2.1 billion pesos). According to DANE the service accounted in 1995 for close to 16 percent of GDP, clearly the most important service activity. It is headed by the Bank of the Republic, which functions as the central bank. There are approximately 1,700 companies devoted to financial services, of which 37 are established banks, 30 are investment companies, nearly 70 stock and bond brokers, and a small number of leasing and real estate leasing. According to the most recent DANE survey in retailing, personnel employed in supermarkets, "hypermarkets," and malls was nearly 84,000, with sales of 2.87 billion pesos. These figures declined to 74,000 persons employed and 2.02 billion pesos worth of sales.”(nationsencyclopedia 2012)

“Retailing exhibited strong growth in value sales in 2014. The most dynamic channel was non-store retailing, underpinned by the accelerated expansion of internet retailing. Other categories amongst store-based retailers, such as discounters, convenience stores, department stores and warehouse clubs, also experienced rapid growth and the potential to continue developing over the forecast period.”According to (euromonitor international 2015) the retailing sector had a positive growth.

Fron the data given before, we can conclude that  throughout time the quantity between the diferent sector have been fluctuating, but the previos year it has turn into the benefit of retailing and services, because they were the ones who had the best performance.

Attitudes towards business

Statistics provided by the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor and reported in OECD (2012a) show a wide range of perceptions and attitudes related to entrepreneurship in different OECD countries. With the exception of Japan, the perception that individuals have entrepreneurial opportunities and the capability of starting up a business appear largely distinct from their attitudes toward entrepreneurship.(innovationspolicyplatform 2014)

In Colombia this Entrepreneurship has help to develop a new horizont for young people, wich are trying to focus on improving the economic performance in every sector of the country, as well as expanding the opportunities of them.

Buying Habits / Lifestyles

The Colombia citizens as well as in the whole world are segmented in babies and infants, kids, teenagers, teens, young adults, middle youth, mid lifers and late lifers. Which spends a significant part of their time and money on the most named products in Colombia that is grooming and fashion, health and wellness, and shopping. While the most popular services were the delivery ones as well as the recreation and healthy life style, leisure and recreation, sport and fitness, vacations, public holidays celebrations, and transport.(euromonitor 2013)

This information just give us a clue about the preferences that Colombian citizens have in regards their needs and wants which are turning into a new way of going through the daily life in the best way possible for them.

Traffic congestion

Average speed to which citizens in Bogota can move on a transportation method. According to three different sources in average the speed of Bogota is 23 Km/h. In a normal day between 7:00 to 19:00 which are the rush hours. (ministeriodemovilidadytransporte 2012)

In the case of soccer club industry, the traffic congestion would represent a delay in the normal activities, because the chance of arriving late to the activities increase, so the timing should fluctuate an average of 10 to 15 minutes.

Inner city- environments

The slums of Bogotá are largely the result of rapid population increase without the housing and services provision that such growth demands. During the past few decades, Bogotá has seen sustained, rapid demographic growth through waves of rural-to-urban migration in the wake of general impoverishment and violence. The Bogotá urban perimeter expanded rapidly through illegal subdivisions, occupation and the development of marginal areas by immigrants. Bogotá’s inner-city slums, on the other hand, are mostly the result of urban transformation processes, whereby certain downtown areas underwent progressive social and physical deterioration and, increasingly, accommodated lower hierarchy social strata and economic activities.(Rueda-Garcia, un-habitat 2004)

As the universities zone, cultural, industrial, legal (fiscal) , residential zones, are located in the inner-city, a promotion of the company in this areas will allow the industry to scope the possibilities of these clusters as potential customers, so the company can re allocate their resources in a smart way to achieve and perform a better strategy to reach and accomplish the goal by spreading the aims of soccer club.

Average disposable income

The average disposable income is the amount of money that an average person destinates to certain spends, such as leisure times, fun times, buying new clothes, buying new things, addressed to saving etc.

As observed in the data the company realises that the disposable income have been growing in the last 4 years to a top of 253.620.9 USD millions, which goes to as mentioned before to banks (savings), travels, insurances or any other leisure activity. (euromonitor &fedesarrollo 2014)

This can be understood for the different sectors of the economy as possibilities of earning some money from this resources that average people designate to spend, for soccer club industry is a positive result because this would give an higher number of customers.

Trust in government/attitudes towards government

In Colombia there are many issues in regards of the government trust, Colombian attitudes towards the government is turning since many years ago in a negative way, this is because the mistakes and the corruption from the past has created a untrusted in government, as well as the Colombian population has a high tendency to avoid taxes and many other payments that should be done to the government.as seen in the graph, less that the 20 percent of the colombian poeple trust in their government.

The people in Colombia is not trusting anymore to the government and politicians, this is why people nowadays think that the government of Colombia is becoming more and more corrupt. This causes that the frameworks have been short aged.

For any industry in Colombia this could be taken for and opportunity or a threat, because many companies in Colombia do not pay any taxes so soccer could industry could be pointed of avoiding the correct payment of the taxes, but if the company manages all their payments to the government then it would give a positive perception of the company to the public, so this should attract more customers.

Ethical concerns

It is important to mention that in Colombia is affected by the corruption, in the picture we can see that Colombia is rated at the 17 country that are more corrupted.

In all industry the corruption affect the ethical concern because it is very difficult to interact in a working environment with people who are not honest and this affect all type of business that they have.

Attitudes Toward saving

Refers to the people that work and obtain revenues.

Nowadays in Colombia people are saving money  to improve the family revenue, this is important to the dynamic that implement the banks of this country.

The reality is that just a little part of the population of this country know how to obtain and preserve their revenues and used for an unexpected case example to buy a house or a car o basically the study of their sons.

Sex roles

In Colombia is very difficult to make a equality for the women and men for the industry, it is very common that in many companies there are more men than women because of racism for women. There are studies that mention that women work more hours and  work in the same sector of the men and companies pay more so for this reason men have a better income than the women.
